Parent should pay a close attention to this point, because wealth is something that Allah entrusted and therefore should be kept and use wisely. This training is not exclusive for the rich, even the poor should train their child to do it. How many child who was poor, and when they grow older and become rich, spend their money carelessly? Whereas we all know that spending money carelessly is not allowed in Islam.

The Messenger of Allah -peace and prayer of Allah be upon him- said,

( إِنَّ اللَّهَ كَرِهَ لَكُمْ ثَلاَثًا قِيلَ وَقَالَ وَإِضَاعَةَ الْمَالِ وَكَثْرَةَ السُّؤَالِ (

“Indeed, Allah loathes for you to do three things: saying, “Some said…some said..”(gossiping), wasting (your) wealth, and too much questioning.” [1]

A child is a gift from Allah the Glorified and Exalted, a gift that increases the joy of its parents. A joy that could not be measured with wealth.

A child is a favor from Allah, thus, it is proper for a couple to be grateful to Allah for His favor. Allah the Glorified and Exalted decreed,

“The dominion of the heavens and the earth belongs to Allah. He creates whatever He pleases. He grants females to whomever He pleases and males to whomever He pleases, or grants them a mix of males and females, and causes whomever He pleases to be barren. He is All- Knowing, All-Powerful.” (Chapter Asy Syuura/The Consultation:49-50)

How Life Ends for the Haters

How Life Ends for the Haters

How Life Ends for the Haters

Envy (spite, hate) is an old disease that has brought misfortune to many people and harmed them. Haters will always enrage and oppress innocent people. Thus, there’s an Arabic saying says, “Allah has killed the Spite, how fair He is. It (spite) starts with its own master (the spiteful one) and then kills him.”

‘Umar Ibn al Khaththab –may Allah be pleased with him- said, “It is enough for you that the spiteful uses your joyful time.”

Allah the Exalted declared in some of hadith Qudsy, “A spiteful one is the enemy of My favor, people who always gets annoyed by My deed, and one displeases of My giving.”

The Arabs used to say, “A master will never escape from a merciful one who is always praising and a hater who is always insulting (him).”

An expert in jurisprudence named Abu al Laith as Samarqandy –peace be upon him- said, “Five sanctions that will reach the hater first before its spite reaches its target (the hated one); firstly, a never ending distress, secondly, a misfortune without reward, thirdly, an insult without praise, fourthly, the wrath of his Lord, and fifthly, the door to Allah’s guidance will be closed for him.”

Ruling of Arisan( Gathering) of Household Equipment

Ruling of Gathering of Household Equipment

Assalamu’alaikum. May Allah bless you.

Ustadz, I’d like to ask. What is the ruling of holding a gathering of household equipment,  in which I as the host of the gathering provide the equipment. For example, a pan. The price of a pan is IDR 500,000. Thus, we make a gathering of five person for five months, and each member pays IDR 100.000 monthly.

The question is:

What is the ruling for my action, if I as the host – as well as reseller of pan- buy a pan from the supplier with the price of IDR 400.000, and I provide it for the gathering I created with the price of IDR 500.000? Is it permissible, bearing in mind that from that gathering, I receive monthly profit of IDR 100.000 from the price of pan?

May Allah reward you greatly.
