Beggar, A Lowly Profession [Part 2]

The Messenger of Allah -peace and prayer of Allah be upon him- promised Paradise for those who don’t beg from others

عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ قَالَ وَكَانَ ثَوْبَانُ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ –صلى الله عليه وسلم- قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ –صلى الله عليه وسلم- (( مَنْ تَكَفَّلَ لِى أَنْ لاَ يَسْأَلَ النَّاسَ شَيْئًا وَأَتَكَفَّلَ لَهُ بِالْجَنَّةِ؟)). فَقَالَ ثَوْبَانُ: أَنَا. فَكَانَ لاَ يَسْأَلُ أَحَدًا شَيْئًا.

It is narrated from Tsauban, a former slave of the Messenger of Allah -peace and prayer of Allah be upon him-, he said that the Messenger of Allah -peace and prayer of Allah be upon him- said, “Who want to guarantee to me that he wouldn’t beg to human being at all, then I will guarantee for him the Paradise?” (A narrator said), Tsauban replied, “I will.” Indeed, he (Tsauban) never begged anything from anyone.” [Narrated by Abu Dawud, no. 1643. Sheikh Al Albani classified it as valid hadith in “Shahih Al-Jami’” no. 6604.]

Beggar, A Lowly Profession [Part 1]

Lately, the news about beggar are booming. Beggars are everywhere, moreover in the cities. Many people don’t feel ashamed to be a beggar, while their bodies still look strong enough to work.

When beggars were asked about their monthly income, some of them would answer that their income were higher than the civil servant’s salary. Glorified and Exalted be Allah, just by a simple trick, raising their hands to beg in front of people, they were able to gain more money than those who worked hard.
